It is an alkaline composite magnesia refractory product with MgO and CaO as the main chemical components. It has low porosity, the starting temperature of load softening is generally higher than 1700℃, and it has good resistance to alkaline slag. It is made from calcium magnesia sand as raw material, which is crushed, proportioned, mixed, shaped, and then fired at a high temperature of 1550~1600℃. Magnesium-calcium bricks are mainly used as linings for AOD furnaces for smelting stainless steel and linings for VOD ladles, replacing the original magnesium-chromium bricks, and are the most important magnesium-calcium refractory materials.
